Willig, Williams & Davidson
Gina Rubel, founder and CEO of Furia Rubel Communications and Legal Marketing Association stalwart, has worked with Willig, Williams & Davidson for more than 14 years. As the firm neared its 40th anniversary, managing partner Deborah Willig, an energetic, fully engaged website committee and Gina determined it was time for a refresh. In late 2018, after going through the RFP process, Content Pilot was chosen to develop a new strategy, logo and website.
During our strategy meetings and research, we uncovered several important attributes of the law firm:
- WWD is one of the largest women-owned firms and one of the largest union-side labor firms in the nation.
- It is highly diverse, both in terms of its lawyers and the comprehensive services it offers to labor unions and workers – employment law, benefits, workers’ compensation, family law and more
- Lawyers’ reputations and level of scholarship compares to or surpasses the largest law firms in the U.S.
- They are progressive – lawyers demonstrate fresh thinking, caring and are aggressive in their pursuit to change things that need to be changed.
Sincerely inspired by the workers’ stories that the law firm’s leaders shared, Content Pilot proposed a succinct, yet passionate statement as WWD’s tagline – “Workers inspire us.” For 40 years, their deep experience, professional and political connections and proven commitment have been the foundation of the firm’s progressive approach and advocacy.
When it was time to design the logo and website, lawyers wanted to project a clean, modern image that also previewed how genuine, accessible and down-to-earth they are.
Managing Partner Deborah Willig says, “I love what I do – we all do. We are on the side of the angels. We get a call when our clients are at their most vulnerable – when their job is in peril, or they’ve been discriminated against. In working with us, our Content Pilot team dug deep to understand this – to capture the essence of our firm and at the same time, create a website that was welcoming and easy for any visitor to access and navigate.”
