5,374 days ago, on January 1, 2006, I launched Content Pilot. You might say it was a New Year’s Resolution that inspired me to change how I was doing things – to go to market as a company rather than continue as” Deborah McMurray,” the consultant with a strictly virtual team.
So – 14 years, 8 months, 17 days ago, Content Pilot as we know it today was born.
As we have evolved and grown larger, there are numerous changes and improvements every one of us has made to our company and the work we do. But there are anchoring core values that have guided us.
Content Pilot’s leadership team has been working closely with a consultant for the last few months and has defined six core values:
- Respectful
- Passionate
- Creative
- Work Smart
- Continuous Learners
- Responsible
These words embody every aspect of who we are and how we do what we do. Each of our team members is a standard-bearer for these values and they exhibit them; they consciously and unconsciously demonstrate them and PROVE them to our clients and each other every day.
You might be wondering why in the world we are doing this – and particularly, why – in a pandemic year – we are doing it now?
We decided this uncertain year was the perfect time to put a fine point on our vision, mission and culture. Content Pilot Culture isn’t our office environment and whether we see each other every day – it is something that lives inside each of us. In our gut. Our culture is what makes our company one of a kind, beyond our products and services.
Going forward, these 6 Core Values will serve as our cornerstones. They may not reflect every minute of our past, but they will define every minute of our future.
To our clients, colleagues and peers, thank you for turning the page with us as we continue to tell our Content Pilot story. Next month, we will highlight core values “Respectful” and “Passionate.”
